How far can I get with an e-Golf?

The range of the e-Golf is up to 233 kilometres. How fast the charge level drops depends on your driving style. The battery lasts longer in the city than on the highway,

What can I do to make the battery last longer?

By switching to recuperation mode, you can save energy while driving. To do this, put the gear lever in the "B" position.

Where can I charge the car?

You can charge the car at public charging points for free. It also works on a normal household socket, but takes considerably longer. The cost of this is determined by the electricity provider.

How long does a charging process take?

With AC charging stations, also called type 2 charging stations, a complete charge takes about 5 hours. With a CCS rapid charging station (you can tell by the fact that the cable is attached directly to the charging station), charging takes only 45 minutes.

What do I do if the car cannot be opened?

There is a trick: In the app you see a headlight symbol. Touch it to wake up the car. That usually works. Otherwise, you can always contact our customer service.

Can I park for free anywhere?

You can park almost anywhere where parking is allowed. In the business area it's free, outside you need a parking ticket. It is important that you have an internet connection to open and close the car. Therefore you are not allowed to park your car in garages and underground car parks.

What is the minimum and maximum booking duration for a PlanTrip?

Your PlanTrip can be a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 72 hours.

Can I reserve a PlanTrip for less than 24 hours?

No, shorter trips are only possible with our Free Floating fleet.

When do I have to start my trip?

After your PlanTrip has started, you can start and stop your trip at any time. The car is and stays reserved for you.

Will I pay less if I return the car earlier?

The price at which you made the reservation remains the same - even if you return the car earlier. So go for another drive.

When can I cancel my PlanTrip?

You can cancel your PlanTrip free of charge up to two hours before the start of your reservation. After that we will charge the total price.

Why can't I rent an e-golf to drive to my PlanTrip car?

Currently, you cannot use the Free Floating and PlanTrip features at the same time. But we are already working on it.

When will I be shown the location of my car?

About two hours before the start of your PlanTrip you will see the exact location of your car in the booking overview.

Can I end my PlanTrip anywhere?

You have to end your PlanTrip in the neighborhood where you picked up the car.

Can I go abroad with the e-Golf?

No, unfortunately not. But within Germany you can go wherever you want.

How to make a stopover

It’s true what they say: smartphone reception in Brandenburg can be a little patchy. Here are some tips for making a successful stopover while you’re in the countryside:

• Before you park up, check your smartphone: have you got at least 3G? Great, you’re ready to make a stopover.
‍
• If the e-Golf doesn’t immediately close or open, wait one moment and try repeating the action again.
‍
• Lacking reception? Moving a few meters around the car with your smartphone can make a big difference.
‍
• Turn on your Wi-Fi, it will help us to locate you better.
‍
• If your smartphone has full reception but the car’s locking system won’t function, it may be due to the reception of the car. Moving the car forward a few meters often helps. You can see if your smartphone and e-Golf are connected by tapping on the flashing symbol in the app: if the car flashes once, they’re connected.
